CBL are pleased to announce General Availabilty of the following new software
release for IBM mainframe MVS, VSE and CMS platforms:
The new release of CBLi may be installed as part of the full CBL product
bundle, which includes SELCOPY 2.02 and CBLVCAT 2.12.
A separate upgrade bundle is also supplied for MVS customers already using CBLi 1.4x,
which may be downloaded from the
CBLi downloads pages.
The full product bundles may be downloaded from either of the
SELCOPY downloads or
CBLVCAT downloads pages.
What's new in CBLi 1.50?
CBLi 1.50 is predominantly for MVS systems.
CMS and VSE users should review the
CBLi 1.50 New Features
before deciding whether to upgrade from CBLi 1.4x, as benefits are insignificant (mainly bug fixes and minor features) relative to those
for MVS.
For MVS (z/OS) systems, CBLi 1.50 introduces a major new feature, SDE (Structured Data Edit).
|
Initial SDE support is for in-storage edit using COBOL copybooks
or CBLi's own file-structure definition syntax.
|
|
Support for large files, more sophisticated VSAM support and file-structure definition using
PL/1 copybooks and Assembler DSECTs is planned for the next release.
|
|
Changes and features introduced in the new product release may be found in the
CBLi 1.50 New Features
and
CBLi Structured Data Edit (SDE)
documents.
Your feedback drives the development of our software.
